ABOUT US
The
Fairview and Area Palliative Care Society was created to assist patients and
their families with their needs at the end of their life. A palliative patient
is someone for whom a cure is no longer possible. Therapy is aimed at providing
support, reduce suffering, and improve the quality of life for the person,
family and friends. At this point in your life, you and your family have
the option of choosing your type of care. Your choices should be discussed with
your doctor to see if a suitable program can be arranged. Your care can be in
the hospital, Long Term Care or at home or a combination of these.
OUR SERVICE
The Palliative Care Society boundary stretches from Whitelaw - Dunvegan - Bear Canyon and everywhere in between. Our society provides equipment that is not covered by Alberta Health Care. We provide equipment for people with palliative needs
that is not covered by Alberta Health Services in the Acute Care, Long Term
Care and Home Care settings. We also provide educational
opportunities for area residents who are interested in palliative care.
